Spring Break / Family Vacation - Part Four

SATURDAY/GRANDMA ANDERSON'S FUNERAL - We did not take any pictures on this day and I am really sad about that. Carson came with us to the funeral he really wanted to see his Great Grandma. He has a real testimony of heaven and of what happens when we die. We left at 7:20 in the morning and did not get home until about 5:00 in the evening, because we knew it was going to be all day we got babysitters for the small ones and the medium ones who felt that they would rather not go. To see what Cambryn and Morgan did all day click on the link to Brooke and Jake Briggs. The funeral was beautiful, at the church service you could feel the spirit. We then had a nice luncheon back at Grandma Anderson's house, and then on to the grave site service where anyone who wished to - shared memories of Grandma. Then my dad dedicated the grave site. We then traveled back to my parents house. That night Ryan and I took our kids, my mom and dad, Griffin and Brian and Vanessa out to Red Robin for dinner. That was really fun - we ended up sitting outside which was really great because we were the only ones outside. It made for nice, quiet dinner conversation. After the kids were in bed my mom and I had to go be moms and stop at Target and the grocery store to make sure we had what we needed for Easter.

EASTER SUNDAY - Church was at 9:00a.m. and we had a house full of 15 people to get ready, plus the kids needed to check out what the Easter Bunny brought them. The morning went well and the kids enjoyed their baskets. It was so fun to have all 29 of us at church together. Ron Wilson a good friend of the family and member of the ward pulled the out-of-towners out of class to snap family pictures for us. He then met us at my parents house and did a large extended family shot. Since we did not even go in the house before we took the picture it actually went very smoothly. Thank you Arnold (neighbor) for letting us use your front yard for the picture. After the picture we had, to use Aunt Heather's words, the sickest egg hunt. The Easter Bunny came back to hide the eggs while we were all at church. The kids loved it. We had Lasagna, garlic bread and salad for dinner. We realize that this is not the traditional Easter Sunday meal. However with all of the out of town guests, the funeral and Brook and James moving in the next day it was the perfect fit. Besides that I do not think that there is one of us that does not like Lasagna. As always there was plenty of dessert to choose from. Having church that early was very relaxing, it allowed us time to sit and visit and not feel rushed for getting out the door to drive home to Arizona. It is always hard to leave and my mom, dad and I cried like we always do when we leave. The drive home was uneventful - a good thing! The next day - Monday I thought I was going to clean and do laundry, that did not happen I ended up sitting a lot, I felt like I had been run over by a mac truck. I think it was all the time spent in the car on Saturday and Sunday that did it to me - it was so painful to even walk on Monday. Tuesday it was back to preschool, Bitty and Ryan both got sick this week - and the result is that one week later there is still stuff in the car and still clothes in the suit cases. A small price to pay for all of the time we got to spend with family!
