So Blessed

I was putting Carson to bed tonight. We were reading a book and I noticed that he was acting a little sad. I asked him if everything was alright. He said yes and that well nothing had made him sad today. I saw tears in his eyes and so I asked him what was making him sad. He started crying and said he was really sad that President Hinckley had died.
Carson LOVED President Hinckley and he wanted so badly to see him in person. He would pray every night that he would be able to see President Hinckley in person. As parents we of course wanted to make this happen- so Ryan and Carson were planning to go to General Conference this past April. So when President Hinckley passed away in January, Carson was totally devastated. We wept with our sweet little boy and didn't know much else to do for him!
Carson has been close to the spirit from a very young age, he understands, believes and knows in his heart some gospel principles and truths that it takes some of the rest of us many years to know and believe. He is a special Child of our Father in Heaven, I feel so blessed to be his mother here on the earth! He has taught me many things.
Tonight I wept with my sweet boy some more and told him that it is okay to be sad. I told him that President Hinckley was a very special man. Carson said, "maybe I am so sad because President Hinckley was the prophet for my whole life." How sweet is that? I do not know what I did to deserve such a great kid and such a special spirit! I am thankful though for a child who will keep me on my toes spiritually. Mommy loves you Carson- you are my Sweet Guy!
