First Day of School 2014

All of these cuties started school today.  The house is SO quiet. I seriously cannot believe another year has flown by. Excited to hear how their first day turned out. Love them.

For the second year in a row these two have been matching on the first day of school. They get along so well and have tons of fun together!

She looks so big, she is growing up and was SUPER excited for school to start! Last night when I tucked her in bed, she smiled up at me and said, "I've been waiting for this moment all day!!!" From me, "What? The moment you can go to sleep so when you wake up it will be time for school?" An even bigger smile, "YEP"

 Bristyn- age 6- 1st grade
 Cambrn- age 8- 3rd grade

These two are in the same class this year. Our school has a multi-age program. This is our first exposure to it. Bristyn was crying when I left this morning, the teacher had Cambryn come sit by her. At 11:00 I got an email from the teacher letting me know that Bristyn settled right down and both girls were doing well. Loved that email!

 Morgan- age 10- 5th grade
Carson- age13- 8th grade

What we are hoping for Carson this year is a return to his love of learning and school. 7th grade year took a lot of the joy out of Carson's love for school. Pretty sure it was a combination of age, teachers he didn't care for and a whole lot of worry and anxiety he had for Cambryn's well being. At the start of last school year, he was distracted/preoccupied with his worry for Cambryn. It was a rocky start. Looking back I now know that I should have communicated what was going on to his teachers. But, as much as I want to change that little fact, nothing I can do about it now. We will learn from it and move ahead. I am so thankful for this boy, my only son, my first-born. He has such a kind, obedient, faithful heart. I love him and his goodness. He is a teenager now and oh-boy is there a learning curve there, poor kid gets to have most of the parenting mistakes made on him. Love you Carson and hope this year is AWESOME!
