January Happenings

So technically this was the very end of December- but whatever! Morgan and I had so much fun doing this! For Christmas she got a Fairies Cookbook and she wanted to invite some friends over to cook some of the recipes with her. The girls had such a blast- we had them over about lunch time and we made Unicorn Horns (calzones), Sugar-and-Spice Sandwich Swirls (think cinnamon sugar cream cheese w/jelly spread on bread and rolled pinwheel style) and Fairy Princess Marshmallow Pops (pictured)! This was right up my alley and so enjoyable! Morgan is still asking me to plan another cooking day- we had so many girls that we invited who were out of town or sick- so another cooking day is in the near future!! Look at all those smiles just darling!

Cambryn and Morgan wanted to run in the sprinklers and it was freezing!! They actually lasted quite awhile before coming in. Of course when they stopped then they realized how cold they were. We got them all dried off and in some comfy clothes. These two are so fun to watch together they really have a good time!

On January 31 we had Carson's baptism. The weekend went so well! I stayed relaxed and enjoyed every minute of it. I was wondering what to do to feed everyone on Saturday for dinner before the baptism (it was at 7:00p.m.). My friend Rebekah gave me the idea to do soups- and that turned out to be a lifesaver. The soups were perfect!! Thank you to all who I borrowed a crock pot from! We had children getting baptized from two wards that night (6 in total). The night went so beautifully and the spirit in the chapel was so strong.
Carson set a goal to read the Book of Mormon all the way through before he was baptized. He (we) started on Oct. 26 and we did it! It was pretty intense towards the end. We would wake up early and read, then we would read after school and then read some more right before bed! I am so pleased with Carson he has such determination and focus especially with things related to the gospel. He is an absolute joy to raise!
My sister Vanessa came in on Friday and it was so fun to have her. She helped me get the soups all together early Saturday. She helped with the last minute shopping on Friday night and lets not forget that she also spoiled me by getting Papa John's for dinner! We had Mom Bosley, Mom and Dad Anderson and Grandma and Grandpa Durham sleep at our house Saturday night and we loved it!!
We are truly grateful to our family and friends for coming and sharing this special time with us! It was so fun to see all of you and have you in our home.
I am so thankful for the gospel that blesses my life in so many ways! Carson has now made the choice to become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Many blessings will be his in his life as a result of this choice.
